Dear ERG Members,

It has been a privilege to serve as President of the Educational Research Group. I am delighted to share with you our second Educational Research Group Newsletter in 2023 after a very successful meeting in Bogota. This city was exciting and vibrant with rich heritage, culture, amazing sightseeing, and fruits! During this meeting, the ERG held 6 symposia, workshops, and a focused learning session, and judged the presentation prizes for staff and students – more on that in the newsletter!

I am happy to introduce to you our regional representatives who have been appointed over the past year to support and help the ERG group in growing its expertise and networking to enhance dental research. Welcome to: Samantha Byrne from the University of Melbourne, Martin Zemel from The University of FASTA, Melanie Nasseripour from the University of King's College, Se-Lim Oh from the University of Maryland, and Rohit Menon from the University of Ajman.

In our Portland newsletter we welcomed a number of new members to the group at the meeting, and we are delighted to have reports from three new members at different stages in their careers – welcome Jacob, Francisca, and Rohit to the ERG!

We are greatly looking forward to meeting you in New Orleans, March 13–16, 2024. Please do make sure you come to the Networking and Sharing Session and Reception for the ERG from 5:30–6:30 on Thursday in Room 295, followed by a reception in the same room from 6:30–7:00.

The IADR General Session for 2025 will be in the beautiful city of Barcelona – please mark June 25–28 in your calendar now! Do also consider what sessions you would like to propose for this conference. Please speak to me or any other executive to find out more about how to host a symposium: https://www.iadr.org/24IAGSSessionProposalGuidelines

Thank you for your continued support. I am honored to serve as your President and look forward to supporting Jonathan San Diego, our incoming President, after New Orleans 2024.

With kind regards,

Michael Botelho
